Greensburg Bishop Larry J. Kulick, J.C.L. to Offer Public Lecture at 茄子视频 University September 17
The Most Rev. Larry J. Kulick, J.C.L., Sixth Bishop of the Diocese of Greensburg, will offer a free public lecture at 茄子视频 University as part of the university’s celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, the first American-born Saint, the founder of the Sisters of Charity and the namesake of 茄子视频 University.
The lecture will be held on Tuesday, September 17th at 7:30 p.m. at the 茄子视频 University Performing Arts Center, 100 Harrison Avenue, Greensburg. The lecture is free and open to the public. Tickets must be reserved through the 茄子视频 University Box Office at .
Bishop Kulick will speak on the topic, "Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton: A Eucharistic Missionary for Our Times.” Born and raised a protestant, Elizabeth Ann Seton converted to Catholicism as a young widow with five children and was drawn to the Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. She opened the first free Catholic school for girls in America in 1810, and her work laid the foundation for what is now the parochial school system.
The lecture is the culmination of a series of events on campus to celebrate Elizabeth Ann Seton's birthday, which began on August 28 with the opening of an exhibit, “KNOW HIM: The Last Supper and the Gift of the Eucharist." The exhibit is on loan to 茄子视频 from the Diocese of Greensburg and is allowing students, faculty, staff and alumni to view a 16-foot mural recreation of "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci, along with six other versions to compare and contrast.
